DEVELOPMENT OFFICER, Baltimore, Maryland

International Orthodox Christian Charities (IOCC) seeks a Development Officer at its headquarters in Baltimore, Maryland.  Working closely with the Director of Development the successful candidate will create and implement strategies for the cultivation and solicitation of major gifts from individuals, corporate and foundation donors. The Development Officer travels frequently to represent this dynamic, growing Orthodox humanitarian aid organization and communicate its mission. The successful candidate is expected to manage and track multiple prospects and donors while setting and meeting significant fundraising goals, be self-motivated, and able to succeed with minimal supervision.

Job Requirements

Requirements:  Knowledge of Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) code of ethical principles; Advanced communication skills; Word processing experience; Data base management familiarity (Raisers Edge, especially helpful); proven team player; and, familiarity and or experience with Orthodox institutions.  A college education is preferred but successful fundraising experience of 3-5 years may be substituted.  A Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) certification or advanced training in fundraising is desirable.
