Saint Sava Academy, the dual-language parochial school of Holy Resurrection Serbian Orthodox Cathedral in Chicago, offering Pre-K through 8th grade education, is pleased to announce the vacancy for the position of:




Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Stimulating the emotional, intellectual, and social growth of students;

• Preparing weekly lesson plans;

• Providing a safe learning environment;
• Encouraging students' participation by providing interactive activities;
• Keeping parents regularly informed regarding curriculum and classroom activities;

• Maintaining and communicating records of child's progress and behavior to parents and staff;

• Applying effective classroom management and modeling techniques

Job Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess the following minimum qualifications:

• A passion for working with children in a nurturing and educational environment;
• The ability to perform multiple tasks with precision and timeliness;
• A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, or equivalent education, from an American college or university;

• State of Illinois Teaching Certificate;

• Experience working in an elementary or middle school educational setting


Candidates, to whom a conditional offer of employment is made, will be required to undergo a background check and must have necessary work permission/documentation proving they are permitted to be gainfully employed in the United States.
