Job Description


Provide leadership and have business and administrative responsibilities for facilitating the overall operations of the Parish.

·        Manage and execute the business, financial, marketing and operational affairs of the Church as set forth by the Parish Council and its various committees.

·        Lead and provide oversight of the Church non-cleric personnel/office staff and facilities, under the supervision of the Parish Council and with consultation from the Head Priest. 

·        Oversee the rental use of the facilities by St. Mary’s parishioners and outside parties.

The essential functions and accountabilities of this position are as follows:


1.      Oversee and manage the work activities of the church office (non-cleric) personnel; establish objectives and conduct evaluations with the Parish Council and Head Priest.

2.      Be a liaison to the Parish Council, attending all monthly meetings and General Assemblies.  Provide resources and guidance as needed to help the Parish Council conduct the business of the Church.

3.      Delegate tasks and requests as appropriate to either Church personnel or volunteers.

Management - Administrative

1.      Manage the administrative budget, as approved and provided by the Parish Council.

2.      Manage vendor contracts and office equipment leases, ensuring that they are competitive and renewed as needed.

3.      Oversee the management of the master calendar such as scheduling and coordination of special events, meetings, and other involvements with church groups and outside parties.

4.      Oversee parish communication plans, including social media and website.

5.      Oversee the keeping of metrics and official records including weddings, baptisms, membership, etc.

Management – Financial

1.      Maintain the Church’s financial reporting system.

2.      Oversee all financial accounts, and the preparation of payroll, payment of monthly payroll taxes, church invoices and financial disbursements and filing of state/federal tax forms and Metropolis required forms.

3.      Assist auditors in compiling documentation for analysis and reporting to the Parish Council.

Management – Building and Grounds / Facilities Rental

Oversee Buildings & Grounds / Facilities Rental Operations Manager, whose position includes:   

1.      Vendor management:

a.      Oversee and monitor work done by facility vendors (snowplowing, lawn care, gardening, irrigation, plumber, electrician, handyman, etc.)

b.      Manage preparation of the facilities for events (security, set-up and clean-up).

2.      Facilities rental management:

a.      Schedule the rental use of St. Mary’s facilities.

b.      Interact with the clients in planning their events to ensure customer satisfaction.

c.      Ensure readiness of St. Mary’s facilities for scheduled events.

3.      Management of houses owned by Parish:

a.      Ensure proper maintenance of Parish House, and the rental house per terms of lease agreement.


Job Requirements


1.      Degree from an accredited four year college or University.

2.      Background in Accounting and Financial Management.

3.      Background in Marketing and social media.

4.      Proven track record in leading the administrative side of organizations including H.R. and I.T.

5.      Proven successful leadership in a multi-staff setting experience.

6.      Maintains a love for Christ and His Church.

7.      Background or a good understanding of non-profit management.

8.      Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or its software equivalent

9.      Flexibility in schedule to accommodate needs of the Parish, including evenings and weekends, when required.


1.      Proficient in Church Management System software (Parish Soft, or equivalent).

2.      Knowledge of Google Docs.
