Job Description


To lead the youth of the parish to the fullness of the faith and likeness of God;  To integrate the youth into the active life of the Orthodox Christian faith; ¨ To foster servant leadership; and to guide the youth in participating in the church’s mission and ministry.


Job Overview

Under the direction of the Parish Priest, the DIRECTOR OF YOUTH MINISTRIES (Director) is responsible for the evaluation, development and implementation of programs/activities that balance worship, witness, service and fellowship for all youth in the parish. The Director establishes and directs the work of the Youth Ministry Team, working closely with the other ministry team leaders. This person recruits and supervises 40+ Catechism volunteers, 10+ youth activities, athletic volunteers, and chaperones for events, and others who help provide programming for our 300+ active youth members on their spiritual journey. The Director also oversees the implementation of our Youth Protection & Awareness Guidelines, including conducting training sessions and creating training materials. 

Job Requirements


We are looking for experience and personal attributes of the new director to allow him/her to “hit the ground” running. A qualified candidate: Must have at least a four-year College Degree and a minimum of five years of youth work experience; Should have an understanding of child development and current issues faced by our youth; Should be familiar with and competent in use of social media, database processing, and Microsoft Office, including Publisher and Excel; Must demonstrate a love for working with youth of all ages; Will be a member of the leadership team of the parish; Will build on the strong foundation that has evolved over the last twenty years and propel us into next phase of parish life; and Should be an active participant in the liturgical life of the parish, serving as a role model for our youth.
