Job Description

Communications Coordinator: A contract position, reporting to the Parish Council and Parish Priest.

Purpose of Position: To develop and execute comprehensive internal and external Communication campaigns at Resurrection Greek Orthodox Church that is Eucharist centered, relational, vibrant, and relevant.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and lead all efforts related to the continued maintenance and support of the Parish website.
  • Advance our websites & social media content
  • Develop & execute marketing strategies for the parish.
  • Oversee design, language, and distribution of digital and printed materials
  • Maintain and expand regular communication with parishioners through weekly and monthly bulletins, email, website, social media, and personal contact. 
  • Monitor the look and feel of all promotional materials representing the Parish and its Strategic Plan.
  • Develop creative ways to communicate desired messages with the Parish’s current and target audiences.
  • Program Reporting: Develop regular updates to the Priest, and Parish Council meetings on progress and impacts of programs (metrics). 
  • Improve Parish Data Systems target audience.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Job-related expense reimbursements.
  • Reimbursement for related expenses must be submitted monthly to Parish Priest or Parish Council President. Expenditures over $100 require prior written authorization.

Job Requirements

  • Has a heart for the Orthodox Christian faith, and a passion to use communications to reach others.
  • Has a vision for communications strategy
  • Enjoys creative writing, some administration, and brand management
  • Is an organized, creative thinker and highly productive, working in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications & Required Skills:

  • Proficient in social media marketing tools, Wordpress, and marketing strategy
  • Degree in communications, marketing, or related field preferred
  • Proven ability to take projects from beginning to end.
  • Organized and able to manage multiple projects.
  • Action-oriented and displays focus, passion and initiative. Takes appropriate action when something needs to be done.
  • Committed to improvement, seeks constructive criticism, and understands strengths and weaknesses.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. 
  • A member in good standing of the Orthodox Church, knowledgeable about the beliefs and practices of the Church preferred.
  • Two professional references. 
  • The passing of a complete background check.
