Youth Ministry Vision Statement

St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, with the commitment of parents, clergy, and lay leadership, strives to create an engaged and inclusive youth ministry that fosters each child’s relationship with Christ Jesus within the Orthodox Church by seeking and sharing Christ’s love with them so that they mature in their Orthodox faith, learn to share Christ’s love with others, and ultimately find Eternal Life in Him.

Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic, vision-focused individual with the creativity, energy, and initiative to help our parish realize its vision for youth ministry. Under the guidance of our parish priest, Fr. Michael Nasser, and in partnership with him and the rest of the parish, this person will lead and facilitate the parish’s efforts at securing its young people in the love of Christ and the communion of His Church. This full-time position will involve overseeing all youth and young adult programs and opportunities as the leader of the Youth Ministry Team; working directly with youth, young adults, and families in a variety of roles; and ensuring the fulfillment of youth ministry administrative duties.


To be considered for the position, an applicant must be a committed and practicing Orthodox Christian in good standing who maintains a love for Christ and His Church. He/she must also have: 

  • Knowledge of and the ability to practically apply the teachings of the Orthodox Church 
  • Experience and passion for working with young people and their families to connect them to Christ and His Church
  • Leadership experience (preferably in a ministry setting) and the ability to effectively lead and inspire a team of ministry volunteers; and connect with and mentor youth and young adults
  • Interpersonal and relational skills for effectively working with people of all ages
  • Exceptional administrative & organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) 
  • Ability to extend the ministry of the parish to the broader Orthodox community and beyond
  • Attitude of a servant leader


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited four year college or university (ideally in a field supportive of youth ministry work) 
  • Orthodox theological degree/certificate of studies
  • Interest in long-term service to the parish
  • Strong digital capability and social media skills
  • Familiarity with and participation in Orthodox Christian programs (e.g. Antiochian Village, Orthodox Christian Fellowship, Teen SOYO, etc.), especially in leadership roles
