Pastoral Assistant

The Pastoral Assistant must be an Orthodox Christian in good standing who is actively living out his or her faith commitment to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. They will be under the direct supervision of the Parish Priest whom they will assist as an extension of his ministry to the parish. The Pastoral Assistant will serve as the primary chanter for Sundays, weekday services, and sacraments. Additionally, they will assist the Priest with the various outreach ministries of the Parish along with any additional responsibilities assigned by the Parish Priest in areas of worship and parish administration. The Pastoral Assistant shall follow Parish Ministry Guidelines for each ministry as provided by the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, the Metropolis of New Jersey, and Saint Sophia Greek Orthodox Church.
