Administrative Assistant

The Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America is a religious not-for-profit organization. “The mission of the Archdiocese is to proclaim the Gospel of Christ, to teach and spread the Orthodox Christian Faith, to energize, cultivate, and guide the life of the Church in the United States of America according to the Orthodox Christian Faith and Tradition.”

Job Summary:

The Archdiocese is seeking a full-time administrative assistant who is a motivated, self-starter with strong administrative skills to support an Executive Office. The individual must be well-organized, able to multi-task and think on their feet in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.

Principal Areas of Responsibilities:

Administration (80% of time)

  • Acts as a point of contact internally and externally
  • Organizes reports, documents and correspondence and takes copious notes
  • Filters and prioritizes external and internal phone, mail and email communications and takes charge in follow-up on correspondence
  • Maintains the executive calendar of events, schedules and reschedules events, coordinates with stakeholders and invited guests
  • Prioritizes scheduling based on changing demands

Other (20% of time)

  • Coordinates guests’ visits and reception
  • Facilitates travel arrangements
  • Manages or participates in projects as directed

Travel Requirements:

Light travel may be necessary. 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (administration major is a plus)
  • 5+ years of executive experience
  • 5+ years working within a religious organization is a plus
  • Fluency in speaking, reading and writing modern Greek

  • Demonstrates flexible and adaptive behaviors including in stressful situations

Compensation:

$60,000-$65,000 (determined by length and depth of experience). This position is also eligible for medical benefits and other packages. Generous holiday and vacation package included
