Administrative Assistant
Thriving in Ministry offers clergy and clergy wives a transformative Peer Learning program, supported by the Orthodox Church in America’s Office of Pastoral Life and a generous grant from the Lilly Endowment, fostering resilience and growth in shared ministry.
Thriving in Ministry is seeking assistance with implementing administrative work of the board officers and committees. These duties can be done remotely and on an agreed upon timeline.
Position Requirements:
- Member in good standing with an Orthodox Christian parish.
- Project management skills
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Skills for entering and manipulating data in spreadsheets (MS Excel and Google Sheets) required, and preference given to those with advanced skills
- Skills in MS Word, Google Docs and other online programs
- Familiarity with Google Workspace a plus
- Familiarity with MailChimp, Email Octopus or other mail database programs a plus
- Maintain verbal, written, and electronic content as privileged information
- Must be organized and detail oriented and willing to assist with developing processes for the long-term sustainability of projects and events.
- Must be a fast learner, especially with online software.
- Can commit to at least one year, and preferably 2-4 years, at up to 20 hours per month. Potential for more hours in the near future.
Position Description:
The Administrative Assistant will be responsible for assisting with implementing projects, developing and sustaining processes, and supporting committee work of the organization. The assistant reports to the Program Director and, at times, to the Board members responsible for projects or processes on which the Administrative Assistant is working. Some examples of projects include:
- Tracking membership and organizing membership data into specified categories with the intent to communicate with membership subsets.
- Assisting with organizing events such as the Annual Facilitators Retreat, monthly Office Hours, and Monthly meetings of the Board.
- Drafting and sending communications to members in a timely manner
- Assisting with customer service within the membership portal
- Other committee projects as needed.
Remuneration will be $18-20/hour (based on the candidate qualifications) up to 20 hours a month.
