Administrative Assistant
Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Cathedral is part of the Serbian Orthodox Diocese of Eastern America, under the leadership of His Grace the Right Reverend Irinej, and the Patriarchate of the Serbian Orthodox Church, located in Belgrade, Serbia. The Cathedral is located in the South Hills of Pittsburgh (Whitehall Boro) and has been in its current location since 1971.
We are looking for a part-time, on-site administrative assistant to perform general office duties and financial system data entry. Hours and days of work are flexible, but looking for a minimum of 12-16 hours per week. This position reports to the Parish Priest and the Council President. Start date is immediate. Compensation is $14-16/hour based on experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:
General Secretarial Duties
- Answer telephone; listen and respond to messages left on church’s answering machine
- Retrieve, sort and distribute incoming postal mail
- Read and respond to email messages sent to church info account
- Type, print and mail weekly bulletin (to shut-ins)
- Print, assemble and take mass mailings to post office (as requested)
- Type donation lists
- Provide coordination between the Cathedral and Funeral Homes for member burials
Supply Management
- Order and maintain coffee room supplies (cups, napkins, small plates, coffee, coffee filters)
- Order and maintain office supplies (copy paper, pens/pencils, envelopes)
- Order wall calendars (yearly)
Computer Data Entry
- Maintain envelope and member address database
- Input financial information into QuickBooks
Management and Support
- Manage coffee room reservations; create and distribute Sunday coffee hour schedule
- Manage Cathedral activity calendar
- Manage picnic grounds rentals/reservations (seasonal)
- Answer inquiries
- Manage reservation calendar
- Distribute and collect rental agreements and deposits
- Maintain reservation ledger
- Coordinate Cleaning company schedule
- Identify days when the Cathedral is in use and cannot be cleaned (holidays, funerals)
Skills, Education and Experience
- 12-16 hours per week in person in the Cathedral office – flexible schedule
- Associates degree or equivalent work experience
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and optionally, Publisher)
- Experience with QuickBooks or similar financial data entry system preferred
- Great customer service; pleasant voice when answering phone calls
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
- Attention to detail important with excellent organizational skills
- Experience managing confidential information
