Hellenic College Holy Cross (HCHC) seeks a dynamic and experienced Dean to lead its undergraduate school, Hellenic College. The institution is dedicated to educating students for success in their professions while cultivating an academic and spiritual life deeply rooted in Orthodox Christian faith and tradition.

Hellenic College offers a distinctive core curriculum and selected majors taught by outstanding faculty. The Dean provides academic and administrative leadership to ensure the highest standards of educational quality. This role prioritizes academic excellence by supporting faculty in achieving distinction in teaching, scholarship, and service, while also fostering a vibrant learning environment for students.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Academic Leadership & Faculty Support:
    • Promote academic excellence by guiding curriculum development and faculty advancement.
    • Encourage scholarship, professional development, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
    • Support faculty in integrating faith and intellect across academic disciplines.
    • Student Development & Community Building:
    • Serve as a mentor to students, nurturing their intellectual, spiritual, moral, and psychological growth.
    • Promote student engagement within the Orthodox Christian ethos of the institution.
    • Foster a campus culture that is welcoming, inclusive, and mission-driven.
  • Mission-Driven Institutional Growth:
    • Expand and enhance academic majors and programs in alignment with HCHC’s mission and Orthodox Christian values.
    • Strengthen enrollment efforts, working collaboratively with Admissions to increase student recruitment and retention.
    • Oversee strategic initiatives to grow Hellenic College and ensure its long-term viability.
  • Fundraising & External Engagement:
    • Act as a key ambassador for Hellenic College, strengthening relationships with alumni, donors, and external stakeholders.
    • Partner with the Office of Institutional Advancement to lead fundraising efforts secure grants, and cultivate philanthropic support for Hellenic College.
    • Represent the College in public and ecclesiastical forums to enhance its reputation and reach.
  • Administrative Oversight:
    • Work closely with senior leadership, faculty, and staff to implement institutional goals.
    • Maintain and improve accreditation standards, assessment practices, and academic policies.
    • Teach one course per semester as part of the faculty.

Qualifications:

  • A PhD or EdD from an accredited institution. Preference for a discipline offered at Hellenic College (Business Management, Classics, History, Literature, Psychology and Human Development, Theology) or a related field in the liberal arts.
  • Orthodox Christian faith commitment, with a deep understanding of Orthodox theology, values, and tradition.
  • Earned rank of associate professor or professor with tenure at an accredited institution.
  • A distinguished record of teaching, scholarship, and service at the undergraduate level.
  • Proven leadership experience in undergraduate education at the level of department chair, associate dean, or dean.
  • Commitment to faith-based education, with an understanding of the intersection of faith and intellect in curricular offerings.
  • Demonstrated experience in program growth, enrollment expansion, and student retention.
  • Experience in fundraising, donor relations, and grant writing is highly desirable.
  • A servant leader with exceptional leadership and team-building skills, capable of leading a collaborative team.
  • Ability to exercise diplomacy, tact, and strong communication skills when working with diverse stakeholders, including students, faculty, staff, and parents.
  • Highly organized with excellent planning and time-management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Experience in managing budgets and allocating resources efficiently to support faculty.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion within the faculty, staff, and student body.
