Director of Communications
Our mission at CrossRoad Institute is to fuel young people to embrace the Orthodox Christian faith and lead lives of transformative purpose in Christ. We provide education, programs, and experiences with the end goal that our Orthodox Christian parishes be overflowing with young people who humbly and boldly love God and their neighbor for the life of the world.
The Director of Communications will be responsible for the growing needs of the organization’s communication strategy and will work closely to implement marketing initiatives with the marketing manager. This includes developing engaging messaging, managing media relations, creating content across various channels of communications, maintaining brand consistency and ensuring all external and internal communications align with CRI goals, values and the organization’s Orthodox ethos.
The position may be remote or Boston-based. It will include travel to program events and to Boston up to 4 times/year. CrossRoad Institute is a non-profit Orthodox Christian organization—for more information visit www.crossroadinstitute.org.
The ideal candidate will have a B.A. in Communications, Marketing and/or Journalism with a strong ability to take initiative and responsibility for the entire organization’s marketing and communications efforts. The candidate will have at least 10-15 years of paid work experience in a fast-paced environment along with a familiarity and love for parish ministry and actively involved in an Orthodox parish. The candidate must have a proven track record of strong and effective communication abilities, including writing, speaking and interpersonal skills with a variety of people along with exceptional organizational and administrative skills with a love for the mission and vision of CRI. Quick critical thinking and problem-solving abilities are a must. Excellent customer service and client relations skills. Highly organized with effective time management skills.
