Parish Administrator
Job Summary:
We are a very diverse and growing parish seeking a Parish Administrator. This person will coordinate office activities and operations, provide clerical and administrative support to parish leaders, and refine/oversee standard operating procedures in the life of the parish.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Directs office activities and maintains efficiency and compliance with church policies.
- Manage clerical and computer work as assigned, particularly when more advanced, skilled, or sensitive work is required, with little supervision.
- Clerical support for priest, parish council, and ministry leaders as needed.
- Maintains priest, parish, and ministry calendars, and proactively directs work to prepare the facility accordingly.
- Oversees telephone services, email correspondence, mail distribution, and other parish communication (e.g. bulletin, fliers, parish-wide emails, newsletter, etc.).
- Maintains office supplies inventory, ecclesiastical supplies (e.g. candles), and other facilities supplies.
- Maintains records, documentation, and files, particularly more complex or sensitive documents such as sacramental files.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to flex schedule for coverage as needed.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Empathy, friendliness, discretion and confidentiality are paramount.
- Excellent computer skills; graphic experience preferred.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and communicate accordingly.
- Basic understanding of how to operate standard business equipment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Associates degree in office administration or related field preferred. Three years of administrative or clerical experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Regular periods of walking. Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times.
Compensation:
$50,000 salary (based on experience). Paid time off. Benefits negotiable.
